  • We can’t get over how beautiful the bush is at the moment. Everything is so lush and green, and this time of year always fills us with gratitude for the follow-up rains and the new life they bring. From fresh greenery to newborn animals and dramatic skies, the bush feels truly alive right now. Just a small glimpse of what Ximuwu has been all about over the past week — nature at its very best.   • Along the Klaserie River, there is always something happening. As the river forms part of our traverse, guests will always experience the beauty of the Klaserie during their stay, with elephants, buffalo, antelope and abundant birdlife regularly moving along the water’s edge. Every now and then, the river offers something a little different. A crocodile out of the water, perfectly still, almost posing for the camera. Not something we see every day, and always a special sighting. Would this be a highlight for you, or maybe a little frightening? 🐊
  • After an exciting game drive, there’s nothing quite like ending the day at our sunset bush bar. Perched at the highest point of Ximuwu, with wide views over the mountains, it’s the perfect place to slow down and soak it all in. A glass of Veuve Clicquot, a classic G&T, delicious homemade snacks, and the African sky putting on its evening show… this is safari at its finest.   • Summer has arrived ‘overnight’ here at Ximuwu. After weeks of beautiful spring rain, the bush has transformed completely. The grass is shooting up, everything is lush and green, and impala lambs are everywhere you look. This morning we spotted our first wildebeest calf of the season, and the plains are alive with zebra, giraffe and so many other animals enjoying the fresh growth. It’s always amazing how, after the dry winter months when everything feels tired and pale, nature bounces back with such strength. Watching the seasons change here at Ximuwu is truly special, and we’d love for you to experience it with us 🌱🌿
