  • We’re slowly heading towards our rainy season, and we honestly can’t wait for that first big downpour! The bush is very dry at the moment, and you can feel that both animals and people are longing for that fresh green to return.
Luckily, our dams still hold plenty of water from last year’s good rains — which means we’ve had some very happy (and regular!) elephant visitors lately. Watching them splash, play, and cool off in the dams close to the lodge is such a special sight for our guests.

Here’s to the promise of rain, lush green days ahead, and even more magical wildlife moments at Ximuwu 💦
  • 📸 One more thing that makes a stay at Ximuwu so special: the use of our photographic hide is fully included in your rate — no extra cost, just pure magic.

These guests were lucky enough to capture wild dogs stopping by for a drink, beautifully framed in the late afternoon light. What an unforgettable moment!

You can settle in, camera ready, maybe even with your favourite cocktail in hand, and wait for nature to put on its next show. That’s the kind of experience we love to share at Ximuwu!

  • Golden hour at Ximuwu ✨

There’s something about the warm evening light that makes the bush glow. Giraffes seem to love it too — strolling slowly, enjoying the calm of the afternoon turning into night. It’s one of those moments where you just stop and watch. What’s your favourite time of day on safari? 🦒🌅

  • Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing all the little extras that make Ximuwu so special — because it’s not just about the safari!

With only four suites, your stay is always private and exclusive… but did you know how many treats are already included in our rate? ✨

This week’s highlight: your complimentary one-hour spa treatment 💆‍♀️💅
Choose whatever you feel like — a deep tissue or hot stone massage, a facial, manicure, pedicure, body scrub, or even a wash and blow dry!

And yes, we have two amazing therapists, so couples treatments are absolutely on the menu too.
The best part? You decide where it happens — in our cozy spa, your suite, or maybe even under the stars on our sleepout deck. 🌿🌙
  • We recently had one of those truly rare moments at Ximuwu — a caracal sighting!

These elusive cats are masters of staying hidden, moving silently through the bush and usually only active at night. Even our most experienced guides can go years without spotting one, which makes this encounter extra special.
A big thank you to @wildestkrugersafaris @craig_reid_wildlife for finding this beautiful cat and sharing the magic with our guests. Moments like these remind us how full of surprises the wild can be!

  • When a lion yawns like this, it’s not boredom – it’s a sign they’re waking up and getting ready for the night ahead. Lions spend most of the day resting, saving their energy for when the sun goes down and the real action begins.

But let’s be honest… it also feels exactly like that moment when you finally close your laptop, stretch out, and say goodbye to the workweek. 🦁💤
So if you’re done with emails and deadlines, take your cue from the king of the bush: shake off the week, let out a big yawn, and get ready to roar into the weekend. 🥂✨
