Immerse yourself in the Lowveld
Ximuwu Activities & Experiences
A stay at Ximuwu is more than a safari. It’s an immersion — in sound, in light, in the quiet rhythms of the Lowveld bush.
Beyond exceptional game drives, Ximuwu offers a collection of carefully curated experiences designed to deepen your connection with this remarkable landscape. From the stillness of an underground photographic hide at first light, to the view of Klaserie spreading out beneath a helicopter, each experience is private, unhurried, and fully accessible.
Ximuwu’s activities are optional and tailored to your needs and preferences. Many are complimentary — our way of ensuring that your stay exceeds every expectation.
A PHOTOGRAPHER'S DREAM
Photographic Hides
Patience, perfect light, and an undisturbed view — that’s what Ximuwu’s two underground photographic hides deliver.
One hide sits close to the lodge, positioned to catch the soft morning lighting. Enjoy a cup of coffee at dawn and wait for the bush to come to you.
A short drive takes you to our second hide, where adjustable chairs, camera gimbals, and spotlights enhance your photography experience.
Both hides are wheelchair accessible, ensuring everyone can enjoy South Africa’s wildlife at Ximuwu Lodge.
RESTORE & REVIVE
Ximuwu Spa
Enjoy world-class treatments at the Ximuwu Spa after a long day exploring the bush.
Whether it’s a deep-tissue massage, a restorative facial, or a nail treatment, each service is personalised by our spa therapist to what you actually need that day.
Treatments use L’Occitane and Africology products, and in-suite spa services are available if you’d prefer the privacy of your own room.
UNDER THE STARS
Sleep-Out Deck
Nestled in a private treehouse for two, close enough to the lodge for security, far enough to feel entirely alone, our Sleep-Out Deck allows you to spend a night fully immersed in the Lowveld.
Falling asleep under an African sky is the kind of experience that most people only imagine. Waking up to it — with the first light spreading across the bush and birdsong beginning before you’ve fully remembered where you are — is something else entirely.
Available for couples or solo guests. Speak to us when booking to arrange your night on the deck.
TAKE TO THE SKIES
Helicopter and Scenic Flights
Complimentary for guests staying at Ximuwu Lodge for 4 or more nights, our scenic helicopter tours offer a perspective on the Lowveld that no game drive can offer.
From the air, the scale of the landscape changes completely. Whether you want to photograph the Lowveld or simply witness the majesty of the wilderness, this birds-eye-view will take your breath away.
Private air charters can arrive and depart via Ximuwu’s own airstrip.
Subject to weather conditions. Terms and conditions apply.
